The island of Patmos
The island of Patmos, is an excellent destination and very popular for its natural beauty, ambient and precious historical and cultural heritage.
n the other hand, Patmos is also very well known for its cosmopolitan trend. One will find a number of restaurants in many spots of the island, such as Skala, Grikos, Lampi, Livadi of Geranos , Kampos, as well as bars in Skala and Chora.
The distance between Kampos beach and the port (Skala) is approximately 10 minutes by car. Patmos is also located very close to its surrounding islands making it ideal for daily excursions.
Kampos beach is located in a beautiful sandy bay.
The beach is mainly covered with sand and pebbles. It is the most organized and popular beach of the island, situated on its northeastern part. The waters are crystal clear, ideal for swimming and water sports, even when very strong winds blow on the island.
Half part of the beach is organized with sunbeds and water sports (wakeboard, wake surf, wake skate and windsurf) where you can also take lessons by instructors.
The other half is covered with trees for whom seeks natural shade and peacefulness.
On Kampos beach you will also find a restaurant, a tavern and a snack bar-cafeteria.
Patmos’ religious music international festival
The religious music international festival is organized every year at the beginning of September in a small and picturesque theatre in the Sacred Cave of Apocalypse. The festival becomes more popular every year and is thus considered as a very successful attempt. It lasts for 10 days and choirs, orchestras and other music groups from Greece and abroad take part and interpret oeuvres of classical and modern music, having the religious element as common.
